Telekinesis should work like this....

I felt very strange and powerful presence today next to my bed. Just something moved near my bed. I woke up and then energy (and goosebumps) spread all over my body. When this great feeling faded after a few seconds presence was gone. Either it cannot be felt without that energy or it was spent by that surge.

What amazed me after that I was able to use telekinesis just like I did when I dream. Just point with your open palm to a item, tighten your arm muscles a bit, move your fingers so you catch surrounding filaments, activate your frontal lobe until you feel familiar tingling just behind your forehead then push (with your brain and move your palm a bit). Item should do what you intended.

I'm trying it like that every time I wake up (because it should work once!). It never worked after waking up. Until today. I could tip over lip balsam sitting on bed table. Wow!. Then I used both hands and it start spinning. Even better!

I did a few more tries and it worked like a charm. What was new was that around items I played with start to faintly glow with greenish haze. Very interesting. I never saw anything like that before (and I use that in dreamscape quite often!). I haven't seen new mechanics for years now.

And then... then I woke up again. Damn. So it was another 2nd level dream. And you guessed it, telekinesis stopped working again. I hate those dreams in dreams that teases you that something great finally works while awake and then you find out you not awake enough. Sigh.... Maybe next time.

Grindity grind, burnity burn!

In my last post about wurm I wrote about my big grind and how I planed to grind one of my f2p (free to play) stuff holders to permanent ones (had premium time at east once - never gets deleted).

I must say it was better than expected to start "anew". After about 18 skills to 90+ and a few more not far below that it was I would say refreshing to see those fast skill gains. After first weekend of grind I was at around 50 mining. Wow. Its great when you have all stuff sorted out (deed to live on, high casted tools to use, scale set to wear, high casted huge axe to wield, great food to eat, materials for long grind, know how).

So I started offering my big main character for sale. I had time to sell so I was looking for some serious offer. And before my 1st prem month ended on my now new main toon Lilianth, I got it. After some haggling we agreed on price over 1k EUR for toon with nearly rare scale set and inventory full of casted stuff (I had nowhere to keep it and prices went down, so no point to keep so many).

I went on grinding hard. With my new toon I was able to get to 86.7 mining after just 1 month of near constant mining (took me another 10 days of 2nd prem month to get to 90). That was nearly enough to get to my goal of 30 body strength. But with this being my new main toon goals had to change.

My toon now officially being noob again I needed some usable skills fast. Good I started meditating from day 1 so I was already 20 before I 1st premmed it, at 35 after 1st month and 50 after 2nd (59 after 3rd month). Need 70 fast to get +25% skill gain. Should be like 2 months more.

Now what skill to choose at start? First I want to be able to participate in missions. Because that means more sleep bonus! So I needed a few skills to get to 30 item quality fast to be able to sacrifice them to various gods. That was usually just a few hour quick grind to 20ish. Only FC I needed higher because quite a lot of gods was in need of fine furniture (or strange devices)!

Next goal was to make at least some boat because I sold my last knarr with my toon able to make one (and as Shaylie was out of prem at that time I was unable to quick build one). So I needed at least 30 ship building to make me nice small sail boat. Ok, check - around halfway of my 2nd prem month.

Around that time a good friend of mine invited me to dragon slaying! So I had a day to get some FS going. Few hours to get my huge axe to 20 by killing every tree in sight with it then onto steppe to kill all that moves! FS 14-40 in just a few hours (even a few trolls in the end!) and onto that dragon. Was fun!

Then I wanted some basic gathering skills. I started to plant cotton around my house also from day 1 so I was already at 35 farming at the end of month 1 (nearly 50 after 2nd month). Enough to start CT grind. High quality exquisite meditation rugs are also good to sell so I went hard on that during 3rd month and ended up at 72. One more month and 80ql could be sell-able article again (maybe even 90 if I dedicate enough time to that).

Another good skill to have and one that gives you nice body stats gain is WC. I already have nice small tree farm next to my deed (only a few hundred pines). So cutting all very old and overaged trees twice a month gave me 40 skill after 1st month, 53 after 2nd and 61 after 3rd.

But what skill gave me most income last time? Yeah, good old WS. Its easier to grind it 3rd time around ;) It took me only 3 weeks of hard grind to get to 50 and I ended up with 70 at the end of my 3rd prem month! Close to be able to improve weapons to 80 quality and start selling some again.

So as you can see I keep on grinding and burning (= use effectively) sleep bonus (SB) at that. Every day I try to at least burn bonus I got from last day. But that prove as not enough so I even bought and consumed 7 sleep powders in my 3rd month of prem during long weekend grinds. Time is money :)

Especially burning SB on WS proved quite time consuming. I had only like 100 weapons in forge so I always improved them as high as skill let me, so quite a lot of failures (even with 90ish quality tools with 90ish coc casts). So I always imped all of them with iron and water before turning SB on, then continued imping till all wanted iron/water again. Then SB off, repeat. Good for saving SB where real skill gains occur. Slight problem was that after like 30 min of SB you get more than hour of preparing for next round. With full CCFP from excellent food (thanks, neighbor!) and its bonus to SB timer length I ended up with around 5 hours of "work" to burn 1 hour of SB. Hardcore!

I used even some legal automation (wurm even supports macros). I have keyboard with macro keys. If you use that only to fill your action queue and do not add any pauses between key presses its all good and legal. So I have keys for digging (select shovel on tool belt then dig, dig, dig), tree cutting (select hatchet, cut, cut, cut), same for mining and picking sprouts from trees. Only macro for other skills is imp+repair on bottom left key so it can be pressed easily. Nothing else is needed.

That burning in title have one more meaning. With all this hard grind (not a hour of lazying around when prem is on) pauses between prem months are even more important (at least for me) to not burn out. Its nice to look at those graphs at niarja, but even better is when you get home from work and you DONT have to grind today :)

Maybe I will start using that new prem option for half a month soon :)

Keep on wurming folks!

Week of healing my mind and body

As I wrote in my last post, I did quit my job. And I still think it was one of the best decisions I did. Now I went for a week to a spa & wellness hotel to heal my aching body and clear my troubled mind. You need clear mind to heal your body as I wrote here.

I already was in this very hotel once 2 years ago. And it was also when I was in the process of changing my work. Interesting coincidence. Last time it was still during winter - and I did enjoyed looking out of hot whirlpool through big window on snowy landscape out there. Now there are flowers everywhere where once only snow was (sign perhaps? everything is connected).

Its very helpful for your being to stop once in a while, invest time to your body & mind and think about the course of your life. Clear your mind, let your body heal, enjoy being healed and cared for. Do not let stress and troubles to ruin it (easy to say, harder to do, but I do try).

So now I'm enjoying my massages, relaxation and other treatment procedures doctor ordered me and trying to not bother my mind much with future :)

2017-05-20

And I did changed my life :)

Sorry for not posting for some time. This blog was already running on autopilot for a few weeks before posts stopped (I write a lot then set release date for my posts).

I did quit my job (which I hated so much) and now I have no time (and urge) to write. I still have a few topics I want to cover, but no pressing matters that need get out quick. So I might write another posts if I see some of your interest - so comment if you want more and what you liked best so I know which posts did matter.

Until then - see you all in better life!

Is there any inteligent life out there?

Short answer: yes. But as Douglas Adams knew, problem is not in the answer, but in the question.

First we don't have exact definition of life itself. Yeah, we have several ones, but all are based on life found on this planet. We have no idea about how life can function elsewhere in wast distances of space.

Life does't have to be carbon based at all. For example silicon molecules are more stable at high temperatures. So there could be whole civilization of silicoids deep under our feet and no one would know.

Many sci-fi authors spent significant amount of time thinking about life and how it can look and work. One of my favorites (pity I forgot who wrote it) was life based on electric signals in crystals on a lonely planet far from any star.

It would be hard to find out if the thing we would look at in some hypothetical future space lab is actually alive or not - until it starts to interact with humans one way or another. Good material for catastrophic movies.

Next problem is with inteligence. Short definition would be something around "perceive, learn and use knowledge to its advantage". In this interesting (but somewhat unrelated) article is written that inteligence grows at exponential rate (until there is some catastrophe that interrupts it).

But is all inteligent life evolving this fast? If so, there can be quite limited number of civilizations out there that are on similar level to us. Meeting someone that is far more advanced could be quite devastating (like when Incas meet Francisco Pizarro or cargo cults).

Life definitely won't be the same after we finally meet some other civilization. I often hear that "they" are already here but don't want to show themselves to us because "we are not ready". But will we ever be? Are we some kind of zoo for them? Or maybe more like penal colony for souls (variation of reincarnation, but true life is "between" lives down here)? Who knows for sure.

Last problem would be with definition of "there". Even space itself is big enough that it can contain nearly anything. But all this must follow some basic rules or laws of physic. Is there only one universe where inteligent life can live? Not at all. There is definitely more than one.

I'm quite sure that dreamscape is not in our physical space and that inteligent beings can live there. I met one.

Story of his life - 5

Go to chapter 4 (if you missed it)

Today I woke up with my back aching from uneven ground on my resting place. I hope I will sleep on better and warmer place next time. I need to cross the mountain pass to Uda today. So lets go, no time to waste.

I picked up all my belongings, put small piece of dragon meat to my mouth to chew on and went outside. Sun was already up. Good that after those long 2 days in cave I still woke up in the morning.

There was less snow than I expected and when I hugged mountain side I could go quite fast. This canyon was quite windy so I couldn't see the end of it for most of my trek. Sun was already past its highest point on the sky when I finally saw the end of my journey up.

This won't be easy. Last stretch was quite steep and icy. Luckily those dragon gloves have quite good grip so I managed to get to the top without any major accidents. Once I slipped badly, but fortunately only fell a few meters before I grabbed protruding stone.

Finally I was there. From the top I went on for a bit and found nice stone outcropping with great view of my destination. I sit down for a small break and refreshment before venturing on.

Uda looked like a paradise compared to our valley. Lush green forests line river meandering through the valley. I saw smoke going up from cave entrance far to the left and from a few settlements near the river. Maybe there was a bit too much smoke.

Then I saw it. Dragon mating season was in full swing. Small shadows were flying high in the sky and you can even saw occasional flash of fire. There was even forest burning on one spot. Luckily no dragon was near and even the roar was very faint.

Only a few dragons were still up in the sky so it meant that it should end soon. I guess that before I reach the bottom of the valley it will be safe again.

This was nice place to rest. Protected from wind and still the evening sun can warm up my body aching from today's climb. I will rest here before venturing down the hill. Much better place than last night.

Again I dreamed about riding a dragon. Strangely this woman was somehow there too. Even when we were up in the sky. I was not able to see her but I felt her. This will be interesting. I never had so many vivid dreams before. My life was never so exciting!

How to heal yourself

Illness means your body tells you you are doing something wrong in your life. You need to find your poison and get rid of it. This way all afflictions can be healed. But one problem is to actually find the cause and completely different one is to be strong enough to stop doing that.

Current medicine usually only heals physical body with some chemical stuff. It is usually enough to help, but sometimes it causes more problems than its worth. Every person is individual and one-fits-for-all approach is not the best.

But its easy to just go to doctor and then take your pills. Harder path is to try to improve your life. You need to experiment with starting or stopping doing some things and see if it is worse or better than before. Problem is that most changes have quite long term effect (like start practicing yoga - it is hard and painful for quite long time before it starts to help you - trying that now myslef). So is this particular change worse or I just didn't try long enough?

Try changing all habits of yours one at a time. Start with those you think are not good for your health. Usually good start is with your diet or drugs (coffee, alcohol, tobacco, ...). There are lot of people that can help you with that. But its usually easier said than done.

But that was not what I want to write about in this post.

Did you ever found out that you felt much better in the morning that the evening before? Did you ever wonder why ill people sleep much more than healthy ones? Yeah, sleeping (and good dreaming) can heal you.

Even scientists think that main reason people need sleep are cleaning and repairing of brain tissue, memory organisation and solidifying.

First of all make sure you have enough time to sleep. I cannot emphasize this one enough. Healing of body and mind requires time. Its definitely worth it.

Next make sure your dreaming should be as helpful as possible (see my post about fighting nightmares - fear in dreams can even hurt you more physically).

Finally try to concentrate your healing power before every sleep. Focus your attention on what is bad in your body.

With every inhale you suck positive energy in through some of your chakras (I use 3rd eye on forehead). You can help to strengthen this flow by imagining shouting power syllable RA (sounding like in some big temple). Maybe even better could be using 5th chakra and try to suck in energy of Sun itself.

With every exhale try to imagine this energy flowing through the bad spot washing away all obstacles and pains. Power syllable KHAN can help you there (sounding like strong wind in valley).

Breath slowly and deeply (4-6 heartbeats each) so you have enough time to imagine all this as vivid as possible - especially exhaling and sweeping your body of all bad stuff. Slowly go from meditation to sleep.

And as always - your faith will heal you. If you do not believe it can help, better try something else.

Go to chapter 3 (if you missed it)

Again this roaring woke me up. But this was different. It was not dragon roar. Ouch! Nest owner was on its way home. I climbed out just in time. Something big was going down the shaft. And I didn't want to know what it was. I nearly forget my bow there. I must be more careful next time.

My next journey was uneventful (and I liked that). I heard just a few dragon roars, but not loud and near. I tried to move as fast as possible not overstretching my stamina. Tunel was even steeper now and climbing with lantern and all my stuff became quite challenging. At least those dragon gloves have quite nice grip on stone.

I quickly went on through one of the easier parts when I suddenly heard very loud roar. One dragon have to be quite near. What to do now? Was it from front or behind? Hard to tell in those tunnels with all that echo.

I decided to press on and then I saw 2 small red lights in tunel just around nearest corner. I snuffer my lantern and hugged to nearest alcove nearly panicking. Don't move! Don't move and dragon won't find you! But its easier said than done. My whole body was shaking. I used all of the power of my mind to stop making any sound.

Then I heard claws on stone. Dragon was going this way. My entire body wanted to run. This was the scariest moment ever. I heard dragon breath nearby. He stopped and start snuffing air. I nearly panicked. But then it just went on. Elder was right. I will live another day!

I was hiding there for a while longer to be sure that dragon is away. Then I slowly and quietly went on. Damn that was close!

I went on for a few hours too afraid to stop so I just chew on some jerky and drank some water from flask and keep on going. Air starts to get colder so it seems I was nearing exit. I decided to sleep a bit inside cave. It will be worse outside in the mountain pass. But not yet, first I must find that exit.

Fortunately it was not far away. When I saw snow on ground I knew I was near. So I went a bit back to find some good spot to sleep. Nothing good there so I just lied on my backpack in one of the nearest side tunnels.

Tomorrow I need to go over the pass in one go because there will be probably no place to rest and too cold to rest anyway.

What can you find in this blog

When I started to write posts nearly 2 months ago, I haven't thought that I can keep writing them regularly for so long (26 posts now!). Actually I thought I will be out of ideas after first 5, maybe 10 posts, as most of my inspiration or thoughts I wanna save here were from long ago - most from my college days.

So after 3 posts 1 day apart I started to schedule new posts every other day always at 8 PM GMT. So when I have inspiration I write a few posts and have time to come up with a few more ideas worthy of posting.

So I started writing on my past lives I saw in meditations. That was stuff I was pondering about the most lately and I feared I forget all those little interesting details (it all happened about 20 years ago!).

Then I translated very short story I wrote on university and then thought hard about how it may continue. It gets better with every chapter (I hope). I never thought about it more that one or two chapters ahead so it can be kinda overwhelming. And even that 9 chapters "not so short story" were just like some short summary for next streak of posts - story from that vessels eyes. And we will see where it goes after I go through all I wrote about from her point of view.

Next post was about my favorite subject - dreams. You can get more of that by using label Dreams (works similar with all labels you can find on the end of every post).

After that I adopted another pattern - one post about some of my thoughts then one post from that story line and I hope to keep it that way for at least a month more (we will see about that inspiration thing).

Then I wrote about my not so favorite subject - reality and why I hate it. I try to keep hating anything at minimum here!

And after that I posted about one of my favorite game: Wurm Online. I spent quite a lot of my free time with it and if reading those posts get us some new faces there then mission accomplished!

And where we go from this post? I still have a few drafts (about 20) ready to fill content in (mostly just title and few points what it should be about) mostly about dreams and my other spiritual experiences, some about other virtual reality stuff, even about reality (sic!) and maybe I even touch my other favorite subject - aliens :)

So keep reading, commenting, following and I hope I will keep posting!

Story of his life - 3

Go to chapter 2 (if you missed it)

So I left out little village. For first time in my life. It was very strange feeling. I might never see it again.

Path up went around still frozen patches of soil where we will sow our crops after this years dragon mating. It should start in a few days. Like every year when spring sun shine directly inside cave.

I need to hurry. I don't know how long it will take me to go through dragon cave and I definitely want to be out of there before dragons emerge from depths and chaos starts. But roaring was not yet heard so I might do it in time.

At least it was warmer in cave than outside. I will try to be quick. I was used to long walks with my father when he taught me how to hunt. And today I was glad for it.

Folks quite fear it and don't even go near it. We with Jumani at least went in around first corner because no one will see us there. I light up my lantern and went on with just a little fear what might happen there.

When I arrive to first crossroads I thought that right way is right, because it went up. Good I remembered our elders words and I start looking for that sign. It was on the the way to the left that went slightly down. Ok, lets go that way than.

When I was tired I went a bit off the main road and sit down in a little alcove for short nap and some dragon jerky. Long roar woke me up. Sounded like from far away, but I will need to hurry. Its hard to tell if its morning or night here in cave so I just went on.

Once I was unable to find that sign on crossroads I arrived on. So I went back one and found I went bad way. Good it was not long trip back.

Tunel went mainly up. Sometimes quite steep, but there were always enough supports to go up. I was starting to be really tired so I need to find some shelter quickly. And just around next corner I saw up on nearest ledge something that looked like big nest. What big bird can live so deep in cave? And then I saw little light going from high above. There seems to be shaft leading up.

I was never so deep in this cave. But that nest looked more comfortable than anything I saw here in this cave. I just climbed there and immediately fell asleep. I hope that this nests owner does not show up.

I dreamed again about that strange woman. She was always there no matter what I did but strangely translucent like some angel or so. This starts to look weird.

My big wurm grind

In my last post I wrote about my first premium months with my current toon (character in Wurm). Nearly from the beginning I started grinding hard to get some skills going.

My neighbor was so nice to me. Helped me a lot in my humble start. And I found a way to repay him. I started to tend all his wemp fields so he had more yield for making cordage favor for his priest. That's how I got my first skill to 90 - farming. Second was not far away and fast to get - carpentry.

Then it was worse - what would be good to grind? The big grind? So I choose weapon smithing (WS, one of the slowest skill to get). First only because I wanted to make rare huge axe. In first batch I made 3. I got pretty coin selling them (you get around 1 silver for normal huge axe at 90 quality but 7-8 for rare one). And I was hooked again.

In first month I got my WS to just over 50. Then I exchanged whole bunch of weapons directly from my forge to a friendly priest (that one I ordered whole set of skiller tools earlier) for some great casts on more tools. Every bit helps especially when WS grind is so slow. I also hurried to get meditation to 70 to get +25% skill gain bonus.

I grinded WS on huge axes, large mauls, sickles, carving knives and long swords - stuff that sells great when rare. I even made 2 supreme carvers! Sold one and exchanged second for a rare knarr (it was my big goal with first toon to make one, unsuccessful in like 30 tries or so).

It ate quite some iron so I needed to grind mining too (always good to have). Took me long 5 months of daily grind to get my WS to 90 (of course with frequent pauses when my prem time expired) - my 3rd 90 and mining was not long behind.

From my WS nearing 80 I started to get nice money selling 80ql weapons and mainly improving others weapons for cash (nearly all my skill 90-94 was from paid jobs!). Somewhere around that time I started my merchant page on forums to sell leftovers from my grind (now it has over 800 posts - I write there nearly all sales I made - kind of chronicle or ledger).

Then I made great deal with my neighbor. I make tools, improve them (if needed) he casts them, I sell them and we divide profit 50:50. Was nice money. Sometimes even better than my improve jobs. I even spared enough money to buy me red dragon scale set - easy to get to 90 PAS with it (no need to make huge amounts of steel to grind on plate sets).

After I reached 90 WS all was possible so I choose myself a worthy goal - be the imp-all-to-90 toon. And I'm getting quite close to that now. I already have that important stuff covered (all armour types, weapons and tools).

For my next prem I selected another goal - grind one of my free to play (f2p) toons (that holds skiller tools for sale for me in its inventory) to be permanent f2p (when you paid prem at least once your toon never gets deleted) with twice inventory size (30 body strength) and riding knarr (23 mind logic). Probably by nonstop mining or similar stuff. We will see how fun that will be (for a month)!

You can read about that (and more) in this post.

Story of his life - 2

Go to chapter 1 (if you missed it)

I was quite disappointed that my best friend Jumani did not shown up to give me farewell. Maybe he will be there in the morning. So I went sleep with quite bad mood. Damn!

Just when I closed my eyes, I heard knocking on my door. He was there with big grin on his face!

"Sorry it took so long. You know its not easy to snatch some tasty remedy."

His father is village healer and uses alcohol to treat wounds. And he had only a small stash left now. This years stuff was not even fermenting yet. I hope he wont miss it too much.

"I thought you forget about me." I said. "Who do you think is my best friend? And who knows when I see you again."

We drank and chatted for a few hours. Like it was the last night of our lives. It could even be true. At least out lives together. I will definitely miss him and our occasional drinking parties. He was unable to bring more that small bottle of stuff from time to time, but it was great!

We usually hide just after first corner of dragon cave and slowly drink it and chatted about how we will be great heroes once. My dream was to ride a dragon like those old knights our elder was talking about and he always said that he will heal my sorry burnt ass when I return. He was such a joker. We had such great times together! It was him who kept me afloat when my father died.

But it will be hard day for me tomorrow. I need to catch at least some sleep. So I hugged him hard and long and he went home. I was pleasantly tired so I fell asleep nearly immediately. I had my favorite dream about me riding dragon. But my ass was burning like hell. Damn that Jumani and his gabble! I hope real life dragons aren't that hot to touch.

But what was strange, there was also some woman. I never saw her in my dreams yet. She was there when I was riding that dragon. Very peculiar. I don't know what she was doing there or who she was but she was quite nice looking. We will see. Dreams are so hazy anyway!

I would like to sleep longer, but sun was already up so I had to go. I already packed all my things yesterday so I just dressed myself in my new drake hide clothes (so comfortable!), put backpack on my back and took my fathers long bow.

I was ready to leave. When I went up around our elders hut I saw that all villagers were there already and all were looking at me. Elder went forth and told me:

"Remember dragons have poor sight. When you have this clothes they cant smell you too. So when dragon is near, don't move. It might save your life one day." I already knew that from my father, but I thanked him for his wisdom.

"Go through dragon cave. When you go to crossroads, always look for circle with 3 lines inside, that will guide your way up to the mountain pass. When you are out of the cave, there is only one way to go. Good luck on your journey and go with Mighty Yamar's blessing."

I gave my farewell to all and went up to the dragon cave. This is the first day of my new life.

Why I hate organized religion

Yeah, I know that I promised you in my last hate post that it won't happen again. Never say never! At least its not that common. So I promise to you that I try to keep this type of posts at minimum. But this one is not that hateful in the end.

Ok, you have been warned. Fell free to skip this post if it offends you somehow.

This rant is not against any particular religion, its about the principles they have all in common. Every religion have its set of rules or dogmas. And you have to obey them or you burn in hell (or somewhere nearby).

This actually makes your life easier. You are told what to do, how to do that and what to never do. Same as with politics from my first rant. Someone makes decisions for you and you just obey.

But if you want to grow, learn, be stronger you need to question all around you and pick what you think is best for you. And easy life is not good for your personal growth. Trust me on that.

Every religion is more like clever marketing around your faith. They want you docile, they want your money, your support, they gain power through followers. Do you want to be dependent on them? Do you really want to be theirs puppet?

I know, thinking hurts. But its the only way how to be better. How to be independent. How to have your own set of beliefs.

Its not bad idea to study religions. Because there are truths out there. But they usually hidden deep and far between. But if you do find something interesting, incorporate it into your own religion. That personal one just for you. But be prepared to question it and throw it out when it is no longer coherent with your other newer truths.

For example I believe in reincarnation. And I believe in karma. It makes me better. It makes me do only those things to other which I want other do to me (but its sometimes quite difficult). I and I try to teach that to my kids.

So yeah, I believe in god (whatever that is - not whoever!) but I don't believe in any religion. I have my own set of rules.

And I believe I have a purpose in my life. I don't know if I found it yet but I believe its not yet my time to end this life. And I will not end my life by my own hand. But I don't fear death. I saw my own death in my past lives a few times so I know its nothing to be afraid of if you at least try hard to fulfill your purpose here. Small problem is that you know that purpose for sure only after your death. Before it its only speculations (but meditations and asking your astral guide helps great deal).

Story of his life - 1

Go to chapter 9 (if you missed it)

My name is Jani. And I was selected for this year trip to Uda. It was great honor for me. And great surprise. I just recently come to age to be eligible for selection, so I succeed in first try! I'm so excited!

Life was not easy for me. My mother died when I was very young. My father told me that she never recovered from my difficult birth. He loved her so much. He was always telling me that I have her eyes and kind soul.

My father died in last dragon mating season. He was a hunter and was not able to get back to relative safety of our village before crazed dragons started their ritual. I was barely old enough to take care about myself. Neighbors tried to help me, but they did not had much to spare. Maybe that was why I was the first choice for trip.

They say life is much easier in Uda. Lots of free lasses to marry and river with lots of fish that never freezes. But trip through mountain pass and dragon cave is dangerous. I don't know about anyone that made it back. Either they all died or no one wants to return from Uda back here. I hope for the later.

Dragons are no threat otherwise, but when they mate they don't know what they are doing so we need to go out of their way.

Life is hard in our snowy valley. Only in short summer patches of grass appear. Not many people live here and only those hardest survive. Was it not for dragons we would have perished long time ago. Soil that was touched with dragon fire takes quite long to freeze again - just enough to give us one harvest of grass seeds and some berries. Together with some hunting and fishing we get just enough to survive.

And nearly every year, when dragons fight for right to mate one of them dies. Then we feast on its meat and make clothes from their hide that keeps you warm even in hardest winter.

On today's village gathering, after I was selected, everyone gave me something for my trip. Some gave smoked or dried dragon meat, some seeds, roots or medicine herbs. I even got fine dragon clothes from village elder and big backpack to keep all my things in. Those clothes were perfect fit for me so maybe they know for some time that they choose me.

I thanked all of them and went home for my last sleep on bed, probably for a long time. Tomorrow morning I will go. Summer won't be long and I need every ray of sun to keep me warm up in the mountains.

How I started to enjoy wurm again

As I wrote in this post, I quit Wurm after I burnt out with my first toon. Took me nearly 9 months before I got back. At first only with new character to look at my old place, then I spent a few weeks with old friends on their new deed on Xanadu.

I was hooked again. Then I posted on forums that I want to buy some starter character - I did not wanted to skill it all the way from start. Then I found my current toon. With only one skill above 50 (carpentry), it was not expensive, but saved me quite a few weeks of skilling.

Only small problem was that this toon was located on Independence server and all my friends were either on Celebration or Xanadu. I needed ship fast to get there. Fortunately I found unfinished knarr nearby with all hard parts (ropes, sails and composite components) already in and only bulk (planks, pegs, rivets and such) waiting to be attached.

But I was quite frustrated with my low skills. Everything now took much more time than I was used to. So I bought complete set of skiller tools and started grinding hard. Then I found quite helpful neighbor and things started to look much better.

I finished that knarr in just 4 weeks, skilling shipbuilding from 1 to nearly 50, same with woodcutting to get better chance at attaching remaining parts. I even get meditation to around 50 in those first 2 months of premium time.

That friendly neighbor deeded place I was squatting on, but let me stay on his new trader deed so I was happy. I had a place to stay and even don't have to pay for it.

The best thing was pause after those 2 prem months. This first pause was partly because I wanted to wait for next meditation question. But it was better than expected. From that time I keep my schedule of grinding hard for 1 or 2 months and then pause for 1 or 2 months to gather strength for next big grind.

When I bought next premium time and with my ship finished I went on sailing visiting my old friends. I stayed on Celebration for a few weeks grinding fighting from single digit to nearly 60. That deed was near big plains so lots of things to kill around.

I kept myself useful by improving all I found around. For example all pans in forges around :) But that will be for this post.

Story of my life - chapter 9

Go to chapter 8 (if you missed it)

Next day was full of packing of all belongings to carts. We also went to cave a few times to gather as much element as we could. Who knows whats on the other side of that portal. And we need that element to feed the dragon (seems that he lives on meat but without element there is no flight or fire).

In the evening there was quite some people with full carts of stuff near entrance to cave. Dragon told us that way to portal is quite long and we should hurry. It was not that bad after all. Took us a few hours, but tunnels we quite smooth and fortunately none were blocked by cave-ins or lava. Tremors were nearly constant but this old lava tunnels held nicely.

Interestingly we had not seen any other dragon all the way here. Is that one we found the last one? He told us that he is definitely not the last one (at least he hoped) but dragons do not live it this particular cave.

When we arrived to the chamber of fight we saw that portal for first time. Floor was covered with smooth cooled lava so it was quite easy to reach it. It was a circle of blue shimmering light on far wall surrounded by strange symbols around it on floor an wall.

We convinced our dragon to go with us through with all the people behind us. Just after we crossed that light surface connection to my vessel broke. Last sensation was picture of some lush green valley with sun shining. Could it be Earth? Sun diameter was just about right and not that small as here. And I could felt that gravity was much higher too.

I woke up with sadness because I felt I probably never see him again. We will see in coming days. It will be much more lonely here without him.

...

And I was right. No connection during my sleep for a week. I could play with element and hone my skills but without my dreams with vessel it was pointless. So today I went for a walk in a cave my mining robots found recently. It was strangely familiar. As this cave tunnel near that place of fight. It was not easy to move fast and safely in my space suit but I managed to reach that last chamber in record time.

And what was my surprise that I found functional portal there! So this is my last entry in this diary. Was it only a month since I started writing it? That month completely changed my life. I'm now using all my robots to pack all that could fit in that portal (even this habitat seems to be deconstructable quite easily into just a few large boxes).

And I'm taking all the element I found. Does not seem to be much more left on this piece of asteroid. I cannot feel it anymore on any of my trips around or inside it.

So to whoever will read it, this is the story of my life for past month. I instructed my robots to construct a beacon so someone hopefully find this diary and read it, but I will be long gone.

Goodbye. I hope that my adventure just begun!

Yeah, this is not over, continue here.

Is dreaming safe?

Interesting and relevant question this is: Can I get hurt while dreaming? And I'm not talking about physical harm from real people while you are sleeping. My research of dreams so far lead me to conclusion that dreaming is safe. Mostly.

For normal dreamers usually worst that can happen is nightmares. As I already said here you can fight them.

Source of nightmares can be:
  • environment - uncomfortable bed, sheets or temperature, too much light or noise, people, electronics or machinery nearby, forms of energy or raditions (some people are more sensitive to certains forms of energy and vawes than others) - try to turn off all electronic devices near your bed (especially anything wireless)
  • physical - alcohol, certain drugs, too full stomach, health problems (especially fever) - some easier to cure than others
  • energetic - mostly known as geopathogenic zones - just move your bed, or at east try to sleep with head where your legs were
  • internal - stress, fears and phobias - you can fight them in reality (helpful) or by trying to control your dream and steer away from them
  • external - extraterrestrial or extradimensional beings - this is what the rest of this post is about
Most of what I try to write here about are my speculations or things I deducted from my travels through dreamscape. It can be helpful to you too. But don't take all my thoughts here as definitive truth. Everything in dreams is hazy at best. It is all truth to me until proven wrong.

Those beings are definitely not common. Some are helpful, some are not (those seems to be more common). Some can hurt you willingly, some just by accident or by mere presence. They rarely wander to "common" sleep or your own dreamscape.

But when you are sleeping, your soul (dream-self or residual self-image) is more susceptible to them. They can be drawn to you either by your calling them (can be subconscious) or by some strong emotions (yes, some beings feed on emotions).

I sensed another being in my dream only once and it was quite long time ago. And fortunately it was not trying to hurt me. I could even communicate with it somehow and I got quite a few ideas and pictures from it (was quite similar to me imagining my past lives).

Those beings can harm you quite considerably. Seems that most (maybe even all) so called psychiatric diseases can be caused by them and even some psychosomatic maladies (like digestive problems or some pains or aches).

One way to fight them is to have your astral guide handy when you venture outside your own dreamscape. I got mine before I went to my past lives for first time. If you don't have one yet (or you don't know about it), try to call it in meditation or just focus on some good entity for example from your faith (most of the time just focusing on something you believe that can help you is sufficient).

And hope your focus and your guide will be stronger than this being you stumble upon. But as always try to communicate first, fight later. You never know what you may learn.

Story of my life - chapter 8

Go to chapter 7 (if you missed it)

What a day it was! But lets start from the beginning. I hope I don't miss anything.

We went to that dragon cave in full gear right in the morning. And we went deeper than anytime before. Tremors were more often now. No roaring yet, but we started to feel that something is different. Like that element was much more common down here. And there was very large lump just around this corner. Yikes!

It was not a lump, it was a dragon! And he seen us as soon as we went around that corner. He turned his large head in our direction and immediately opened his mouth. We were barely able to dodge back around that corner. Now its time to flee.

But that dragon was damn quick and was closing in on us fast. Fleeing failed, so lets fight. With back against rock we raised that amulet and it heats up a bit more than usual. But fire was already on its way towards us. But what was that sensation? I could feel the fire as I felt that damn element. And that means I could try to control it. It worked! With all my mind power I shove that flame away.

But dragon was already here. Time to fight. To our big surprise he stopped not far from us. Maybe from shock that flame did not burnt us. Then he looked at our amulet and he started smiling! That was a nice change of pace. And he started talking.

It was about that he did not saw any knights for quite some time and he is sorry to not recognize us earlier. It was long talk, but I was glad it was not fight. Seems that not long ago (according to dragon lifespan) those knights really did fight some evil from deep below and they won.

But it was bitter victory killing all in that fight. And from that day this planet starts to shake more and volcanoes started to spew more lava. Seems that planet core is unstable now. The chamber where that final fight took place was destroyed. But that destruction also revealed strange portal of shimmering blue light. None of the dragon-folk had enough courage to go through.

It seems to be way out of this dying planet. And according to that dragon we don't have much time left. Tremors could be felt quite often now. We asked him if we could ride him so we get to village faster. He agreed and after quick run through caves to the surface we finally took flight! It was mighty awesome! I could do it all day (was it not for impeding doom).

So we flown from settlement to settlement telling all that they should gather all their belongings and meet near that cave tomorrow evening if they want to live. Not all agreed to leave but most do. Who could tell no to their hero from legends riding mighty dragon!

How I nearly quit Wurm

Wurm online is great game. Definitely game I spent most time with from all games I ever played. Its quite addicting. It have so many things you can master that even a few lifetimes wont be enough to try everything to the fullest.

When I started playing back in 2012 I immediately fell in love. Finally game where everything you do rewards you in its own way. I started small with just 1x1 wooden house just next public mine.

I slowly learned how to get along the game. It was quite a bit more difficult and unwelcome to new players that its now. Everything took great effort but that satisfaction was worth it when you reach your goal.

Then I moved a bit further away near shoreline. Made my 1st 3x3 stone house with a good friend of mine and started to claim area around. With every starter house in the area falling into disrepair I claimed a bit more until I had enough space to deed it.

Now I had place of my own with a way to grant permission to people what they can and cannot do there. I made my 1st 5x5 house with 2 story and felt I have more space than I ever need to work in.

I started farm, fruit orchard and small animal pen area. I learned slowly all as I went. I started to work on ships. Started selling knarrs with 100 raft each for around 30 silvers each. Along with other stuff I had left from skilling I get my 1st money.

Started buying enchanted tools, even spared for drake hide armour. Met great people around, joined a few alliances helped people around a lot. But with all that stuff going around, farm to tend, animals to groom, jobs to finish, deed to pay for, it started to look more like work than game. And I spent tremendous amounts of time in game (nearly 1/2 of my wake time).

It started to be boring. It was more like I need to get inside and do stuff when I paid for premium time (I bought a year of premium twice) and my personal life suffered quite considerably. So in December 2013 I decided I need a break. In a week or so I managed to sell all my stuff I had in game for $500 (so I get more money out of the game than I put in and even have some change left).

I was free at last! But not for long :) Once wurmian, wurmian for ever! But that's another story you can read here.

Story of my life - chapter 7

Go to chapter 6 (if you missed it)

Its a week from last entry already? This training is much more fun (at least for me) than days of boredom before. Something is finally happening! And we get better each passing day. Its more training of mind control than body, but exhausting nonetheless. I even train nearly all my day here. Nothing better to do anyway. Strange how fast we gain skill at controlling that mineral. Seems more like remembering something you knew long ago.

This grumpy old man that servers as out trainer is better in it than I expected from out first meeting. Seems he knows much about this strange mineral. Most of it is just legend stuff, but there are nice pieces of knowledge in it now and there. Anyhow, if you want to know, this mineral is some shattered brain or stuff from one of their gods (so that's why it can be controlled by mind?). I have not been paying too much attention - was playing with pendant circling my vessels head at that moment.

And those strange creatures from that cave are, you probably guessed it, dragons. They have no problem flying in such low gravity world. How they breathe fire he does not know. Probably something they feed on in cave. I'm no dragon biologist after all, and I have more interesting things to do than listening to tales.

Seems there was once upon a time some strange order of knights (how cliche) that was able to even ride those dragons. And seems they wore the same pendant as my vessel found in that cave. So many coincidences! They were fighting some ancient evil from underground (so there is something even beneath those dragons). But who cares after all, its still fun here!

I still don't know how much my vessel feels or hears me. He does not react by any loud thought or voice to my nudging but he seems to not resist it either like he get used to it and embraces my help.

As we get better at controlling this mineral, that fine blacksmith next door even created some harness equipped on my vessels chest that he can use to carry his weapons and stuff. But what is much more interesting, it have this mineral embedded and we can push it. It is not flying or levitating yet, but we can control our falling in air or jump further. Flying is nice when you have to fight flying creatures! But how cool it would be to ride them as those knights!

Next interesting thing is that with all that controlling of that mineral we somehow start to feel its presence. So gathering that mineral is much better and faster now. And good practice too. We need quite a lot of that mineral for weapons and armor. And its good for sale too. My trainer gets a cut so we all happy. And folks around are happy to see their hero from legends.

But today we heard strange roaring from deep down the cave during last gathering trip. Seems that our days of training are coming to an end.

My take on dreams and intuition

Many of you probably asked one difficult question: What are dreams made of? Common answer is: No one knows. But do they? I'm not so sure. This is my theory on dreamscape. Suggestions welcome in comment section.

Investigating dreams is not easy - as I tried to describe in this post. When you do find out that you actually are in a dream you can start looking around. Seems strangely similar to quantum theory. You alter what you see by only looking at it (coincidence?). Not easy to get any detail.

So are dreams just a figment of your resting brain? I'd say more or less yes. I love term used in matrix - residual self image. It could be more accurate than it seems at first glance.

Everything you see in dreams is just your imagination. But even imagination must have source. It could be some recent event, book you read, movie you saw or game you played. But what about dreams of things you are sure you never saw before?

I believe that there is something like field of endless information you are able to tap in. It is not easy but you can do it. It is much easier when you sleep. When you awake its called intuition.

To be able to get some info out of this field you need to "try hard without pushing". Same way as I saw my past lives. Or how they say: fortune favors the prepared. Prepare best as you can then just wait and hope of ray of light.

Imagine what you want to know or what you want to see and then just clear your mind and wait or just do some mundane tasks that do not occupy your mind (manual labor, go to toilet, easy stuff) but be prepared to stop and write down anything that might be helpful.

It is similar with dreams. If you meditate before sleep you could alter what you get. Problem with dreams is that you only remember that one you wake from. So you could get the answer but forget it immediately. But its worth a shot, no?

Story of my life - chapter 6

Go to chapter 5 (if you missed it)

Today, out of pure boredom, I tried to move that pendant of my vessel with same thought command as in reality. And it moved! That was very surprising! My vessel was so shocked that he moved his arm towards it. When arm was near pendant - with me still trying to move it - it magically spring to his palm! That was quite something! He tore it off his neck and throw it away. But I was still trying to pull it in. It was quite magic to look at it slowing in air and reversing direction just before it fell down not far away.

I nudge him hard to move his arm as I do in reality. He was so shocked that he does not resisted at all. I gave him my thought command and with both of us pulling, pendant moved towards his arm.

We were playing with that pendant for better part of his day. In the evening we were so good that we could force push this pendant out of his hand (without him moving any muscle) with quite some speed out then catch it mid air a few meters out and bring it back to palm. Like a horizontal yo-yo without string.

Hope this will be more than a little gimmick he can show to girls trying to seduce them. When he was going back to inn for rest around local blacksmith we tried to move one of the swords he had lying on his workbench near forge. And it did spring to his hand easily. Now it starts to be interesting! That blacksmith was so shocked that he even that sword to him and told him he must visit local elder as he is some man from old legend or stuff. As it was not yet time to sleep and with nothing better to do anyway he went there.

Village elder was grumpy old man quite annoyed that someone tries to disturb him when he prepares himself for sleep. But his eyes widen as soon as my vessel shoved him trick with pendant. He was let in and elder starts to tell him local legend of some outsider coming from far away lands with weapons flying around him saving them from that strange menace coming once a year out of that cave river flows out of. And coincidentally that time is nigh. It can start any time in coming weeks. It sure will be interesting.

So my vessel agreed to train with that elder (why not - he offered free food and lodgings) and at least for now play this hero role. He can always flee if things get too hot around (maybe not even literary considering those scorch marks or palisade outside). What a day it was in the end!

How I became wurmian

When you don't like reality, virtual reality is good place to hide (and to spend time before enjoying dream reality at night). Some games are better than other (depending to your individual taste). I ended up spending quite a significant portion of my "free" time on Wurm Online.

You can say its Minecraft for adults (and its not that far off - Notch even worked with Rolf on it before switching to more mainstream version). Wurm is not your average MMO. Everything in it takes time and sometimes quite significant time. Its one of those survival / crafting games of old (more than 10 years now running!) in medieval times with some magic. Genre that is getting to spotlight lately.

All skills (more than 130 of them in now - see for example my current character stats) are increased with use, so no levels as in standard RPG. When you just kill what you see you only get better in killing and still don't know a thing about building houses. Skilling most skills also improve body / mind / soul statistics. Those also help you survive (for example body stamina increases your HP).

Land is divided into squares 4x4 meters and its fully modifiable by players. Nearly all you can see around is player-owned and player-made (only a few NPC in starter town are provided, the rest is just untouched nature at start).

All Wurm servers are connected now. Every one is one island in big lake (fresh water you can drink). Sailing to border will get you to other servers. Most of those servers are PvE, just a few PvP (where players can kill you or steal you things from your corpse / house / deed).

For a newbie, it takes quite some time to get its bearings and start enjoying the game. Even building the most basic house is not easy. You need to:
  • find good place first (with some resources and water nearby) that is not owned by anybody (you can purchase - deed - land for in-game money)
  • find / make 1 flat tile (digging must be learned on flat land first to enable you to dig in greater slopes)
  • make 20 planks for each of 4 walls - you need to cut down some older trees (young trees do not give enough wood) to make logs then saw them to planks
  • find iron ore (in mines or rummage around), smelt it to iron lumps, make anvil and from more lumps create large nails, 1 set for each wall
  • plan your house with mallet (make one if you don't have already)
  • plan your 4 walls (don't forget doors)
  • attach all remaining planks to walls
  • great satisfaction when you finally done that all!
And that just a start. Imagine your first 8x8 tiles 13 floors mansion finely decorated and finished after a few months of hard work. But it all gets faster and easier with higher skills, higher quality tools and materials and knowledge.

Best thing about Wurm is its community. Always some people around that help you (whats crap for them is treasure for newbies) or even invite you to their village (to get your bearings faster in safer place). And people do commend you for your achievements because they know how hard is to get there.

This game is "unlimited demo". If you do not mind, that your skills are capped to 20% (and a lot of good stuff starts above that) you can play for free as long as you want. To get higher, you must pay for premium time (see official Wurm Online Shop). I paid 3rd day I was there.

As people know that getting high quality / quantity stuff is not easy, they pay you for your work. And you can then buy (after some months getting your way around) your premium time just by in-game work.

Its now more than 5 years ago I discovered this marvel. I don't play it now continuously, but in small doses (always 1 or 2 months premium then 1 or 2 months pause) and I love it! Maybe you will like it too?

And if you want to know how I fared in Wurm, you can read it here.

Story of my life - chapter 5

Go to chapter 4 (if you missed it)

It slowly starts to be boring. Its like very long film with quite dumb main hero. So I try to nudge my vessel more to not be so clueless when it comes to women or business agreements. And I'm getting better at it. That means probably less boredom in future!

As I don't have much to do in reality too (most of work is done by robots controlled by my tireless AI), I just out of pure curiosity tried scanning this little rock for thermal anomalies. As you may remember that strange metal in my dream world was radiating some heat. And to my complete surprise I actually found it!

That means, that my theory about me being on chunk of rocks that long time ago were planet my vessel is on was actually true! That theory was so crazy that I even did not want to write about it here. But now it seems quite plausible. Fast rotation, slow round trip around sun, nearly frozen and sun being around the same size as here in reality. Very interesting find! So my connection to my vessel seems a little less random event than before.

My robots gathered a few chunks of that ore and brought it near. Scanner was not showing anything unusual about them - only heat. That little luminiscence was not source of any known type of radiation - so I hope its not bad for my health (it certainly was not lethal for my vessel or his kin).

Strange was, that scanner was not able to tell me what this mineral is composed of. Only that its some boring silicates with iron. Nothing more, nothing less. So I took it inside my little habitat. But the biggest surprise ever had yet to come.

When I was ordering my robot to fetch me one of those pieces lying on far table I saw that that damn rock started moving towards me. It sure is very low gravity here so not much force needed to actually move it, but still. Its first ore that can be moved by thought!

I started to experiment with it a bit and it seems that its responding to my implant with which I order my robots around or tune my bed. Interesting is that force seems to be higher when I point my hand at it with open palm fingers stretched pointing up trying hard to suck it in. And I'm definitely getting better at it with practice.

This ore can make me rich! Seems that fortune finally smiled at me. For first time in my life! But I wont tell anyone just yet. More have to be discovered about it first! At least now I have stuff to do during day. And I still enjoy my nights with my vessel. I don't think I can connect to him on any other bed than this one here.

Why I hate reality

One of my friends, after reading some of my posts here, was asking me why I hate reality so much. I said to him that I don't hate it per se, but I do prefer virtual reality and/or dreams. So whats bad about reality? Here is my little rant about it. This post will be different from my other posts here so you can skip it if you want to. I promise it won't happen again (at least not in near future).

What I hate about our current reality the most are politics. And especially politic (so called social engineers) that think they are better and more clever than common "plebs". Sometimes they are right, but that don't make them elite. They want to think for you, make your life easier. They encourage you to hazard with your life with subsidized health care. They don't want you to spare your money, because consumption means more taxes for them. They punish you for sparing with inflation, quantitative easing, interventions on currency market, ...

There are so many laws that no one is able to know them all and behave according to them. Its good for politics and lawyers - you need them to interpret laws for you. And if they really want to catch you, they will always find a way in some obscure regulation.

Vote us, you don't need to be thinking anymore. We will think for you. We know whats best for you. We know it much better than yourself. Spend all you damn money. If you don't have enough, borrow more and spend them all. We want all your money so we can buy your vote, feed all those bureaucrats and buy all and everyone we want. That's how politics work. And it does not seem to change anytime soon.

That is not free. It has big impact on crowdifying people, stripping them of free will, thought and all money in the form of taxes. Do you really want it?

And that's how MS Windows work (I hate all that MS did in last 10-15 years - basically all after Office 2003). We know much better than you how you want to use our system and we forbid you from changing it easily. For lamers, as you definitely all are, our settings are the best. We will force you to use that damn mobile system (Windows 10) so you will buy our phones too. Pay us for system and then give us all your data so we can force you ads. And we will not nudge back a bit, because we know we are right, not market and definitely not you, the User. And you need to use that because there is no viable substitute as of now for desktop OS (definitely not for general public). One of those companies where marketing works much harder than developers.

I could go on and on for a bit more, but I better stop here. Yeah, I hate quite a few aspects of our reality. No load / save and skills can go down too! Not fair! That's why I prefer virtual reality.

Story of my life - chapter 4

Go to chapter 3 (if you missed it)

Strange coincidence, strange indeed. My vessel (I kinda like that term) seems to have accepted a job just day before I first connected to him. But some explanation is needed before (as usual).

Seems that people in this valley fear going to that cave system from where that main river flows out. At first I attributed that to some lowly superstition going to dark place where lava is close to surface, steam going out from fissures, hot water flows out and generally being "close to hell". But it seems that some strange creatures actually live there somehow feeding from heat and going out to open only to mate (so probably that was the main reason of heavy scorched fortification!).

To make matters even more complicated, you can collect some strange ore there that when added to iron ore in quite small quantities, make resulting tools much more durable. That bettered iron is easily shaped when glowing hot, but very resilient and strangely lightweight when cold (tools can be made very thin). So some do overcome their fear and venture into that cave to get that very sought after element. But not everyone comes out alive.

And here comes my vessel's job. He was tasked to venture in and apart from bounty for that element he was offered money to look for a missing relative of that job giver. Maybe from foolishness of youngsters or from promise of good payment he accepted. He went there and after a bit of cautious exploration he found that relative dead. His corpse was badly burned. His whole bottom half was looking like coal. That must have been immense heat to cause such burns. My vessel took his backpack with some element, his pendant he wore around his neck and with much relieve he run out.

But why I'm writing about some random job in the first place you ask. That pendant or medailon looked very familiar to me. He wore it around his neck from that day as his lucky charm. So when I woke up I checked net, but nothing there. And then it struck me like lightning. It have engraved exact pattern like that I used that day to tune my bed.

It was a bit melted as it was partially in path of that flame that burned that poor soul to death, but pattern was clearly visible. Seems that it was shaped from that element itself. It was a bit warm to touch glowed slightly in the dark. Looked very magical!

My past lives

In my 2nd post here (How I get here) I wrote about meditations about visiting our past lives. That one most interesting to me was already described there. Now I would like to talk about other things that I saw on that weekend.

One of the first tasks we had was to find our spiritual guide. Venturing in astral world, especially to your past lives can be dangerous. Its always nice to have someone watching over you. Mine was some small nice gnome, that likes to sit on my left shoulder and whisper wisdom to my ear. Sometimes it was more fun than wisdom and he seems quite cynical at times, but he would never hurt me (at least I hope).

One of the first life I saw in more detail (more than just a few incoherent pictures) was around 1900 in our capital. I was a street girl (yeah, very funny name) and I quite liked it (me looking to that life). I even saw my own death in that particular past life. I was bound on a cross and some customer beat me to death. My spiritual guide commented it "He will like that even better now" (he meant that customer). And I liked it too. Death was very emotional and releasing moment for me (finally I'm done with that!).

My next life was son of a rich man somewhere in a sunny town near the sea. I have not seen much from that life, only my death (strange) and a few moments before that. I was driving fast car directly towards a wall.

My third life in last century is this one. Our guru said to me when we spoke after that meditation, that its very unusual that someone had 3rd life in just one century. Seems that there is not enough souls "out there" to let them rest between lives. Because life is like a punishment for a soul. Or more like a obstacle on a long journey for knowledge.

Last meditation was about seeing our own birth in this particular life. I was like flying high above and selecting some newly forming body as my vessel. I really don't know, why I selected this one (or if it was somehow pre-selected - probably not). It was quite painful experience. That slow process of forgetting all I had known as a soul. My last thought was "it will take long time again to learn how to operate this body!".

Interesting is that soul finds its target body not long before birth. So it seems that Christians that are against abortions or experimenting on fetus are not right. Child before birth is not much more than animal before soul settles in.

Story of my life - chapter 3

Go to chapter 2 (if you missed it)

Life at Uda (that's the name of the valley he now lives in) is not very easy. Not many people live there. I have seen only a few small settlements (I guess up to 20 people each) quite heavily fortified. Most live by central river (or larger spring) that runs from a cave full of hot springs. All around are high mountains barely passable with lots of snow and harsh cold weather. Seems that my vessel (that's how I call him now - strange is that he does not tell his name to anyone) is one of the few he traversed from one valley to another. It seems that its some kind of tradition for young men to go to other valleys from time to time (not sure yet on details) to found family there. And not many survive that.

As I already said, sun shines much less here. It does not seem that its some northern region of Earth, because sun shines from quite up on the sky, not near horizon. Days seem much shorter too. Around 1/3 or Earth day. So my standard sleep time is more or less his wake time.

Looks like this planet have much lower gravity too. Trees grow tall (at least trees are very similar to our own, just taller), creatures jump far, lots of them are flying easily. Most are similar to what I have seen in movies, but some are very different. But I get to that later.

People live in some kind of feudal society here. I have not yet seen any advanced technology. But I have seen only this valley and only for a few days. So maybe those people are some exception. But no one know or talks about any different means of life. So probably those valleys are so separated that they just don't know about any other life.

I have yet to see why those settlements are so heavily fortified. I have not seen any dangerous animal and my vessel is sleeping under a tree outside without much fear. But I have seen some strange scorch marks on those wooden palisades. But no one talked about it yet. I will see in time.

My vessel is wandering around the valley, hunts for food, gathers some berries, does some small jobs for people in various settlements and mainly looks for his new wife. But he is quite bad at getting girls attention and seducing them. And there are not many suitable wives to start with. So he is not happy with his progress and is deciding for quite some time what to do next and where to go.

It seems that me connecting to him was not some strange coincidence, as I have found just past night. But I will talk about it next time. Its still a bit hazy and I need to get some more info from my vessel first. So good night and I'm on my way to know more.

I believe I can fly...

... in dreams. Its really frustrating when you suddenly wake up from a dream and you know that just moments ago you knew how to fly or do some even weirder stuff and now it does not work at all. It should work just by bending your hand that way and then stretching this way as it worked just a minute ago!

Did you ever tried same things as you did in dream what if all of the sudden it starts working again? And it does not. For most of the time anyway. And if it does work somehow (it did happen to me a few times already), you realize, that you woke in a dream into yet another dream. Confusing? As dreams usually are.

I have dreams with flying quite often. At least once a week (or maybe more, but you do not remember all of them - only if you wake up dreaming it). Interesting is that flying is different in some of them. I would say there are at least 2 repeating patterns.

The easier one if you just imagine where you want to fly and you start moving there. You have to push mentally, but still nothing exhausting. Easy to hover in air or to go down and get speed, then you can fly a bit higher than before. Gaining height is not that easy, but doable.

Harder one is also more strange. Seen that quite a few times in my dreams already. Imagine air filled with invisible elastic strings roughly copying earth shape underneath. So if you jump up and do *some weird stuff with your mind*, you can actually land on one of those and remain suspended in air like on a slack-line. Then you can easily slide along those strings down the hill. Fun!

What is more interesting about this "string theory" that you can manipulate them with hand movements too and it works nearly as good as telekinesis. You just visualize that particular string connecting your open hand with desired item and suck it in your palm getting that item with it. Or you can just play with those strings moving items around. When connected with flying its quite amusing and its quite interesting to see other dream-goers around looking at it with awe!

Story of my life - chapter 2

Go to chapter 1 (if you missed it)

OK, I felt asleep yesterday thinking about how to continue with my diary posts. That really first one was kinda strange and out of place, don't you think? So I should make a few things clear to someone out there who may actually read this - if I ever decide to publish those!

I hadn't touched my bed controls since then to somehow not disturb this strange connection. I even installed locking plugin so I cannot touch them mentally and it needs actually pressing them with finger now to change settings (Can you believe that? Real manual control folks! So retro!).

Since then I was in his body every night. Strangely I felt rested when I woke up to my reality. I wonder if he sees my life when he is sleeping. I'm getting quite fond of him. He really tries to find him suitable wife, but he usually fails miserably. Better than my romantic films!

I cannot control him while he is awake (yeah, I forgot to tell you that its *his* body I occupy while I'm sleeping). I'm more like a passenger. He went far from his home village to find him a woman of his dreams (strange coincidence - I'm a woman dreaming of him!). He is on his journey for quite some time already it seems. I can hear some of his thoughts when I really focus or when he is "thinking loudly". I can hear, see or smell all he does. If I try really hard, I can influence him a bit. Especially when he is resting, relaxing or somehow not controlling himself fully. That how I was able to open his eyes that first day.

That place is quite strange. Sun is shining less than on Earth. It's strangely similar to how I see sun from windows of my lonely habit sitting on my little piece of land. I bought this asteroid for my last money to be part of this last Golden rush. Its lawless world out here, but much better than that world full of stupid laws and even more stupid bureaucrats and ecoterrorists. Its everyone for himself here in asteroid field, but its better than down there. No one will go check your papers up here.

Its getting lonely here - only me, my mining robots and my sometimes too chatty AI that is getting care of nearly everything here. Yeah, I can chat with nearly anybody down there but this communication lag gets annoying. And I don't have many friends down there to start with. So its usually me here working or looking at old films. But its now much better when I have real film every night.

But I will stop talking about myself. That other world is much more interesting than mine! But I'm too sleepy now, so next time...

On dreams and how to control them

Dreams are very fine field of study. Anyone can do it every day. Every time you find something new. But first thing is to get better at finding out you are actually in a dream. I found a few methods to be quite reliable:
  • you can do things you normally can't - flying, telekinesis - you name it
  • everything is a bit hazy and hard to concentrate on details
  • if you focus on something it changes - you cannot read in a dream (or you can but every word changes as you read it)
  • scenes changes too fast and in strange way they don't stitch together well
So if you can fly, its unfortunately a dream. I mean fly by moving your body by your own will from one place to another without the use of some elaborate machine (but even that is cool!). But knowing you are in a dream have its advantages too - you can change it, bend it to your will. Great thing about controlling dreams is no more nightmares! But only if you are good at revealing that you are in a dream.

Imagine this - I can fly, that means this is a dream. If I'm in a dream, I should be able to go through solid wall! You smash your face to one nearby and it works! It is not easy to pass it even in a dream - more like going through thick honey, but it is doable (tested - in my dream just yesterday - or was it yesternight?). And quite interesting is - you don't need to breathe in there, so no problem to go through even very thick walls.

There are quite a lot of levels of dreams. You can think of them as how real and vivid that particular dream seems. The more real dream is, the tougher is to find out its actually a dream.

Next interesting thing about dreams is how fast you forget what they were about. Its nice to have block (or blog - on phone) near bed and make notes about interesting stuff immediately you wake up.

The more real that dream seems the easier is to remember it even after long years. I still remember one dream I had still as a child. It was one of the most realistic ones I ever had. It was quite short. Just one scene (that made it even harder to find out its a dream when you in it).

I was standing in my parents bedroom looking out of the window and I saw there alien ship slowly flying over neighbors house. It looked like a big glowing zeppelin with strange shiny lines all over it slowly rotating around long axis. I was really glad they finally showed!

Story of my life - chapter 1

Today I decided I will keep a diary. Because last week a lot of strange things happened. This will be my first try to shed some light into it. I'm trying to understand those things by putting them on paper. I don't know if I'm getting crazy or what really normal is now. But judge for yourself.

More strange things happened to me in one week than in my entire previous life. And maybe even more than in one previous life. And there that problem is. In those lives.

I will try to remember how it actually started. At first it seemed like a regular dream. Maybe too vivid dream.

That evening I went to bed as usual. Maybe I set a bit deeper sleep, but you know how easy is to overshoot. Especially when you sleepy. And I was quite bad at focusing on controls that evening. Comfortable humming of the bed make me always drowsy. As every evening that should be the end of long day. But it was not the case this time. Actually my day just started!

Birds singing woke me up. I kept my eyes shut and listened to that nice sound for a bit. But with my senses slowly coming to life I start to realized that things are not as usual. For example I was sure I did not set birds as buzzer sound. And I heard no bed humming. Very strange. And something was pressing me into my back. I'm not sleeping in my bed? I tried to focus but bed control not answered. What was happening? Some joke or what? I opened my eyes angrily and... my mouth too. Surprised. I was looking at a tree branch.

Some of you probably not even know what a tree is. I know fortunately - maybe not that fortunately, but lets not skip things too much. I love old movies. And when I say old, I mean really old. Especially romantic ones. And I really love those scenes, where he and she stand in embrace on a shore in last rays of setting sun. Or that scene where he crash opens pub door, comes to the bar near her and gives her long kiss as she bends backwards a bit. Or he flies in on bush-rope with heroic cry, she steps closer, pulls his hair aside from his sweaty forehead and long kiss follows... But where were we. Aah yeah. Tree.

How I get here

I was thinking about this one for a long time already. I still don't know how real it was. But judge for yourself. I don't force you to believe in anything, but I try to write it down as best I can.

It happened during my very first group meditation I was on. My roommate at university was quite a bit more spiritual than me and he was talking about incredible things so one weekend I decided to go with him as I had nothing better to do anyway. He was attending quite large and diverse group of people all under one guru. I already forget his name but that doesn't really matter now.

Theme of this particular meetup was 'Your past lives'. We were talking about stuff, then drank some herbal tea guru prepared and then laid down on some ground sheets and sleeping bags (everyone brought his/her own), started relaxing and listening to gurus voice. He was telling us what we should try to imagine. I don't remember it fully, because it took considerable time and it is already quite a few years ago (it was last century!), but here is short version of the first part:

Close your eyes, relax. You are on a sunny meadow. You feel sun shining at your skin, wind blowing gently and playing with your hair. You can feel grass touching your legs. You are slowly going down the hill towards the edge of forest. You feel your legs moving through grass. You hear spring nearby. You feel perfectly safe and in great mood. Birds are singing, trees are swaying in gentle breeze. As you slowly approach the edge of forest, you see spring flowing in front of you and a small bridge across it. You step on the bridge, take hold of railing and look down at your legs. Your legs slowly start to change. Now you can select legs that you like. When you are happy with your selection, you continue onward. As you slowly cross the bridge you descend deeper to your past life...

It continued for some time so we can observe that particular life and get some anchor to it. Anchor is some specific picture or feeling you can focus on to get more easily to more pictures or feelings from that life.

We went this way quite a few times during that weekend. I saw quite a few bodies, quite a few pictures and feelings but I want to talk here about one particular that was more different than the others. When I looked at my legs that time I wanted to go really far to the past. And what I saw quite surprised me. Those legs were not legs of a man, but of some insect! I said to myself that this will be interesting and continued down this twisted path.

I saw quite a lot of images, some more vivid and interesting than others but what I get from it was that served as some kind of inter-stellar explorer. I was flying in some form of a ship that was only a bit larger than my body - cross between grasshopper and praying mantis. I had 1 pairs of legs and 2 pairs of arms. Legs were used to control that ship. Large circular "feet" were forcefully pressed against some form of controls. The more I pressed the faster that ship flies. I could change direction of flight by pressing in different directions. Arms were used only to hold me in place in that ship.

As I get it I was quite praised among my kin. I was even given very rare honor. I was allowed to hunt and kill some form of ritual animal.

My last journey went to some unknown planet, 3rd from some backwater sun somewhere far behind the edge of our colonized space. I was bold, daring and went further than anyone before me. But I failed. I crashed. Crashed hard. Without any means to return home.

And even my souls is now trapped here. Forever?

Intro

I recently wrote this post about what can you expect in this blog.

Hello world!

That was easy. I would say easier than expected. They say its really easy to write your own blog. But it is? We will see. But we (or I) wont see if I never start. So here we go...

I can't say I hate my life. But sometimes it gets quite near it. And its near it for quite some time. So, if you don't love your life, lets change it! Easier said than done. But hey, I just started. Lets say this is first day of my new life. Will it be better than my previous? I hope. And hope is all I have now. If I don't start changing it now, I will probably never start.

I have already experienced quite a lot in my life. Seen things with my eyes and maybe even more interesting things with my dreams / imaginations / inner eye - you name it. Was it all real? You bet it was... not :) But what is real anyway. Sometimes I want *it* to be more real than reality itself. And as my life getting longer and my memory worse, I decided to put it all down for everyone to see, read, talk about. Maybe even my own kids will find it one day and maybe they will understand me more after reading this.

I love my kids. But my path to this sentence was long. Maybe longer than my wife wanted. But yeah, I can finally say I love them. And my feeling towards them and towards her is getting stronger now. But I will get to that in some of my next blogs. Maybe.

So I decided to start writing. Last time I did that, it was long ago, on university. I wrote a few articles for small internal magazine of one student organisation I was in at that time. I wrote about different things. Once it was about how our regional meeting was great, next time it was some short story I imagined after reading some latin spell. Then it was series of increasingly interesting stories (at least that was my feeling from it) about my view of god and my hate to church dressed as an art sci-fi story. I was really surprised that it was chosen by some university people to be included in that years Students Almanach. My biggest "award" to date. Better than most ;)

But lets hope next blog will be more interesting. I will start by writing about my most unreal thing I experienced to date. It will be about me (whatever this may be) getting here (wherever that may be).

So see you next time!
